Amanda de Cadenet In Red Magazine

They say that 40 is the new 30 (which is the new 20 – keep up) and, judging from these pictures of Amanda de Cadenet, they may just be right.
The renowned 90s wild child - who reached the big 4-0 last year - looks tanned, toned and generally exudes a gorgeous healthy glow as she graces the cover of this month's Red magazine.
However, in the accompanying interview, the former host of The Word reveals how different things once were, discussing the battles with food and alcohol that plagued her youth.
“I had a rough patch around the age of 15,” she tells the magazine, adding: “I drank too much. My experimentation was excessive.
“I was a workaholic, I had food issues, and I had body issues. I was in a lot of pain. My parents didn’t recognise what was going on. When I was at boarding school, I would get a multi-pack of Wispas, melt them with a hairdryer and eat them in one go. I was so lonely.”
